HOW WE FIT YOUR SOLAR PANEL KIT
Every solar panel kit is fitted at our Ashington workshop and ready to drive away the same day. We mount the panel on lightweight, low-profile brackets (black or silver) so the array sits close to the roof without looking bulky. The brackets still leave a clear air gap underneath the panel.
That gap lets air move freely, keeps the panel cooler, and helps it work better in warm weather.
The brackets are bonded to the roof with a two-pack polyurethane adhesive. It is a structural, fast-curing bond, typically touch-dry in around 30 minutes. The panels are also mechanically fixed to the roof for extra security, so there is no long wait before you can use the vehicle.
We do not rely on a messy smear of sealant alone. The bond is even, the panel is supported properly, the roof is left clean and tidy, and the kit is fitted to stay put.
Cables are run neatly, sealed at the entry point, and connected to a charge controller so the system is tested and working before you leave. We try to keep all the cable entry glands and solar cabling under the solar panel whenever possible, which leaves a much neater finish. Fitting time is usually four to five hours, depending on the kit and the roof.
