Off-Grid Power for Campers and Motorhomes

A 12V to 240V inverter is the heart of any proper off-grid setup. Your leisure battery stores power at 12 volts DC, but most household appliances run on 240V AC.

An inverter safely converts your 12V battery power into the same 240V electricity you use at home — meaning you can charge laptops, boil a kettle, use a TV, run a microwave, and stay truly off-grid without needing a campsite hookup.

Why do I need a 12V to 240V Inverter?

  • Can run normal household appliances from your camper’s battery

  • Stay off-grid longer without relying on mains power

  • Ideal for van conversions, motorhomes, tours, and work vans

  • Works seamlessly with solar panels to create a complete off-grid system

We stock a good range to suit every budget and setup:

150W Inverter – Small Essentials.

Ideal for phones, tablets, cameras, LED lights and small electronics.

600W Inverter – Medium Devices.

Great for laptops, small TVs, fans, chargers, and low-wattage appliances.

1500W Inverter – The Most Popular Choice and the perfect all-rounder for campervans & motorhomes.

If you're unsure which inverter to choose, the 1500W model is the sweet spot. It’s powerful enough to run proper household items, but still efficient and safe for a 12V battery system.

What a 1500W inverter could run:

  • Air fryers

  • Microwaves

  • Toasters

  • Coffee machines

  • TVs and laptops

  • Power tools

  • Low-wattage kettles

  • Hair straighteners

  • Fridges and compressors

  • Induction hobs

Why most van owners choose 1500W:

  • Strong enough for real appliances

  • Doesn’t overload typical 12V systems

  • Works perfectly with Victron 100/20 & 100/30 solar setups

  • Ideal size for weekend vans, motorhomes, and long-term off-grid travel

  • Safer current draw than huge 3500W units

  • Excellent performance even on a single 100Ah lithium

This is the inverter size fitted to the majority of customers’ vans because it delivers the best balance of power, efficiency, and battery safety.

2000W Inverter – Heavy Appliances

Better for short bursts on higher-watt items like large induction hobs, commercial microwaves, or multiple appliances at once. Large batteries required.

3500W Inverter – High-Demand Systems

For big setups with multiple lithium batteries — suitable for large motorhomes and full-time off-grid users.

Inverter Safety Information

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) Interrupts Electric Shocks.

Our premium quality DC to AC inverters are made for use in campervans, motorhomes and caravans and are fitted with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). A GFCI is a device that monitors the electrical current flowing through the inverter's AC output and automatically shuts off power if it detects an imbalance in the current, such as might occur if someone were receiving an electrical shock. This immediately interrupts the power and prevents electric shocks. (* Please note, It's not possible to ground a moving vehicle to earth (a physical wire connected to the ground) while its sitting on rubber tyres, the tyres insulate the vehicle from the ground.)

Overload Protection

Our inverters are designed to handle a certain amount of electrical load, and exceeding this load can cause damage to the inverter or create a hazard. To prevent this, inverters have built-in overload protection that shuts off power if the load exceeds the rated capacity.

Short Circuit Protection

Short circuits can cause electrical fires or other hazards. Our inverters have short circuit protection that quickly shuts off power in the event of a short circuit.

Overheating Protection

All inverters generate heat while operating, and excessive heat can damage the device or create a fire hazard. To prevent this, inverters have built-in temperature sensors that detect when the device is getting too hot and shut off power to prevent further heating.

Low Battery Shutdown

Inverters rely on the leisure vehicles battery power to operate. Draining the battery voltage too low can cause damage to the batteries or inverter. To prevent this, our inverters have a low battery shutdown feature that automatically shuts off power when the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold.

Extension Cables and Sockets

Adding a short extension cable plugged into the inverter is fine (wound fully out if cassette type) the inverter will still provide safety protection.

Inverter Noise and Cooling Fan Noise

Its normal for Inverters to make low and high frequency buzzing and screeching electrical noises when in use. This is due to harmonic distortion and magnetic fields when the voltage is being stepped up. Cooling fan noise may also be heard when the inverter is being used.

By incorporating these safety features, our inverters can protect against AC shock and other electrical hazards.
